Raymond Todd (Toddy Boy) Scott, 68 of Navasota, passed away Friday, December 28th at CHI St. Joseph Regional Health Center in Bryan. Visitation with the family will be Thursday, January 3rd from 5:00-7:00pm at Nobles Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be held Friday, January 4th at 11:00am at the funeral home with the Rev.

Jeremy Woodley officiating. Interment will follow in Oakland Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Nobles Funeral Chapel.

Todd was born on June 11, 1950, to H.C. “Scotty” Scott and Helen Todd Scott in Navasota. He attended Navasota High School and graduated in 1968. He grew up on a working dairy farm and was helpful in raising cattle on the family place outside Navasota.

Todd enjoyed working cattle and horses. He was a great music fan (especially Elvis) and enjoyed movies (especially John Wayne movies). Vocationally, Todd really enjoyed truck driving.

He loved to interact with people and was always interested in their opinions. After high school, Todd attended Blinn College and Sam Houston State to get certified as a Driver Trainer. He taught driver training courses in several Houston area schools.

Todd greatly enjoyed teaching Driver Training Courses to inmates at Navasota and Sugarland prison units. With his training background he became a commercial truck driver and got to travel all over the U.S. and into Canada. During this time his health deteriorated to the point he could no longer continue in the trucking industry.

Over the last 15 years his health continued to deteriorate. Todd is survived by his mother Helen Scott Finch of Navasota and sister and brother-in-law, Scotty Jo and Johnnie Berryhill of Lake Jackson. He was preceded in death by his father H.C. “Scotty” Scott, step-father Grady H. Finch, uncle Raymond Todd and his grandparents.

Serving as pallbearers are Don Goodman, Scott Harris, Fred Estes, Clell Goodson, Douglas Noto, Scott Butler and Lloyd Finke. Honorary pallbearers include Edwin Carel, Charles Todd and Hollis Hood. For those that desire, memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Navasota, 616 Holland, Navasota, TX 77868.
