Obituary for Raymond Williams Raymond Edward Williams, 78, died on Sunday, May 20, 2018 at his home. Born on May 13, 1940 in the Quincy Community, he was a son of Andrew Jackson and Robbie M. Hathaway Williams. Raymond was a 1958 graduate of Vernon High School and he married Wilma Otts on May 24, 1963.

Prior to his retirement, he worked as a machinist and an electronic specialist for ITT Engineered Valves. He was known as one who would lend a helping hand to anyone and was often found caring for those in his neighborhood. In his spare time, he enjoyed tinkering with lawnmowers and weed eaters, listening to CNN, gospel music, western movies, and going on picnics.

Being with his grandchildren is what he cherished most. Mr. Williams was a member of the East Amory Baptist Church and he was a U. S. Army veteran serving in Korea during peace time. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at Cleveland-Moffett Funeral Home in Amory with Bro.

Lloyd Sweatt officiating. Burial with military honors will be in the Hatley Cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Wilma G. Williams of Amory; two sons, Richard Williams (Susan) of Fulton and Phillip Williams (Kerri) of Amory; one daughter, Carol Franks (Rickey) of Hatley; 3 sisters, Janie Hodges of Vernon, AL, Peggy Gault (Bobby) of Hamilton, MS, and Chestine Hankins of Hamilton, MS; 11 grandchildren, Nichole Dilworth (Geoffrey), Chad Franks (Kayla), Kerri Baugh (David), Sofia Williams, Gatlin Williams, Garrett Williams, Gunnar Williams, Gage Williams, Samantha Reid, Scott Reid, and Shane Reid; 11 great grandchildren, Kyah, Brent, Lindsey, Caleb, Colby, Jadyn, Cami, Tabby, Luke, Grace, and Brylee; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Buddy Williams; and 4 sisters, Christine Holcomb, Catherine Adams, Doris Williams, and Frances Murrah. Pallbearers will be Chad Franks, Kenny Adams, Clark Northington, Laron Griffin, Stacy Worrell, and Bobby Otts. Honorary pallbearers will be Gatlin Garrett, Gunner and Gage Williams, and Caleb and Colby Franks.

Visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at the funeral home.
