Metter, Georgia – Rebecca Frances Meeks, 85, passed away peacefully March 2, 2019, surrounded by her family. Frances was born on December 5, 1933, in Lacota, Florida, to the late John Claude Counts and Laura Agnes McDonald Counts. Frances lived in Marion County, Florida most of her life, then moved to Georgia with Alfred after both retiring.

Frances worked for Sprint Telephone as a service representative for many years. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Alfred J. Meeks. She is survived by her sons, Alan (Susan) and Jay (Judy); daughters, Darlene Clark (Danny), Geneva Kurtz (Mike) and Marcia Cameron (Junior); sisters, Agnes Monroe and Geraldine Mullins.

She cherished her ten grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren, all who called her “Granny”. Funeral service will be held at the Countryside Funeral Home in Anthony, Florida with Pastor Ed Johnson officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation starting at 3:00 pm.

The service will begin at 4:00 pm. She will be laid to rest next to Alfred, her husband, in the Old Anderson Church Cemetery, Collins, Georgia.
