Red Newsom May 31, 1941 – May 15, 2019 Share this obituary Send Sympathy Gifts View/Sign Guest Book| Send Sympathy Card Travis Dorman “Red” Newsom, 77, of Dibble, went home to the Lord, Wednesday, May 15, 2019. The son of John Burl Newsom and Mary Irene (Henderson) Newsom, he was born May 31, 1941 in Dyess, Arkansas. Red grew up in Mississippi and then moved to Wichita Falls, Texas, where he met the love of his life, Glenda Kay Davis.

They were married on June 12, 1959, in Wichita Falls. He worked for many years as a carpenter and a heavy equipment operator and was a member of Spring Hill Free Will Baptist Church. In his spare time, Red enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family.

He was a very talented musician and loved to sing and play gospel music. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Bruce Newsom and Kenny Newsom; three sisters, Bonnie Carillo, Freddie Wooten, and Willie Jo McCall.

Red is survived by his wife of nearly sixty years, Glenda Newsom, of Dibble; one daughter, LaDonna Newsom of Dibble; two sons, John Newsom and Glenn Newsom, both of Dibble; nine grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; two sisters, Emma Dell Taubert of Wichita Falls, Texas and Linda Newsom of Blanchard; one brother, J.B. Newsom and his wife, Kay, of Dibble; numerous nieces and nephews; and many other loved ones and friends. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, May 18, 2019, at the Eisenhour Funeral Home Chapel in Blanchard. Burial will follow in the Dibble Cemetery.
