Reinhard Draht, of Ashley, formerly of Laurel Run and Pinellas Park, FL went to our Lord, Sunday morning, July 15, 2018, at the home of his daughter. Born in Russia, he was the son of the late William and Anna Chatkevitch Draht,was very proud of his German heritage and was a graduate of Wilkes-Barre Township High School. He furthered his education at Alfred and Penn State Universities, where he earned his certification in Electronics.

Reinhard served his country proudly in the United States Army in the 101st and worked at the Tobyhanna Army Depot. He then retired from RCA, Mountain Top after over 30 years of service. He was a strong athlete and was active in High School and College Sports, playing football, baseball and basketball, later coaching Wilkes-Barre Township Little League.

He played basketball in both the YMCA and CYC leagues, winning many championships. He was an avid Green Bay Packers Fan, loved animals and enjoyed listening to Elvis Music. In addition to his parents, he was preceded by his first wife, Hilda Griffith Draht; son, Michael Draht and sister, Ruth Harris.

He is survived by; son, Jeffrey Draht, Simi Valley, CA; daughter, Luann Bly and her husband, Donald, Ashley; granddaughter, Jennifer Draht Faaz and husband Gary, Plains; siblings, Olga Marrash and husband Nicholas, Mechanicsburg; Albert Draht and wife Mary, Wilkes-Bare; Marilyn Zlobik and husband Donald, Berwick, many nieces and nephews as well as “Our Neighbors”. Memorial service will be conducted on Wednesday, July 18, 2018, at 6:00 pm at the Lehman Family Funeral Service, Inc. 689 Hazle Ave. Wilkes-Barre, with Reverend Gene Carroll, of the Laurel Run PM Church, officiating.

Friends may call from 3 to 6 pm on Wednesday at the funeral home. The family would like to thank Hospice of the Sacred Heart and staff (especially his Gals) for their excellent care during Reinhard’s illness. In lieu of flowers, the family would be honored if Memorial donations be mailed to the SPCA or Laurel Run PM Church in his name.
