Mrs. Charlotte M. (Lesko) Linker, 82, formerly of the Miners Mills section of the city, fell asleep in the Lord early Monday morning in the care of the Partridge-Tippet Nursing Center of the United Methodist Homes Wesley Village campus following a recent illness. Born in Wilkes-Barre on July 20, 1936, she was a daughter to the late Andrew and Mary (Barna) Lesko. Educated in the city schools, she was a member of the 1954 graduating class of the James M. Coughlin High School, Wilkes-Barre.

A devout Byzantine Catholic, Mrs. Linker was a lifetime member of Holy Assumption of Saint Mary Byzantine Catholic Church, North Wilkes-Barre. At church, Charlotte and her daughter were active volunteers in many church activities over the years. They especially could be seen manning the flea market at the annual parish bazaars.

Until her retirement, Mrs. Linker was employed as a data entry clerk for the Social Security Administration. Prior to that, she assisted as office manager for Dr. Manju Mukerjee and also served as a waitress for the former Golden Palace, both in Wilkes-Barre for several years. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Mr. Ronald J. Linker on February 13, 1977.

A young couple at the time of his passing, they shared some twenty-one years of married life together. She was also preceded by brothers Mr. Ralph Lesko and Mr. Andrew “Red” Lesko. Left to mourn her passing are her daughter, Mrs. Karen P. Sepkoski and her husband Bruce of Miners Mills; Grandsons, Mr. Max Mukerjee and his wife Tiffany and Mr. Ron Sepkoski, all of Wilkes-Barre; Brothers, Mr. Cyril Lesko and his wife Peggy of Glen Burnie, MD; Mr. James Brown and his wife Lucy of Wapwallopen; a Sister, Mrs. Bernice Yencha and her husband Edward, Plains Township; Several nieces and nephews including her godson, Mr. Kevin Lesko of Philadelphia, fellow parishioners and dear friends.

Mrs. Linker is remembered by those who knew and loved her as being a loving, devoted mother and grandmother. She will be greatly missed by all. Funeral services for Mrs. Linker will be conducted on Thursday with Panachida at 9:00 a.m. at the North Wilkes-Barre location of the John V. Morris Family Funeral Homes Inc., 625 North Main Street, followed by the Office of Christian Burial with Divine Liturgy at 9:30 a.m. in Holy Assumption of Saint Mary Byzantine Catholic Church, 695 North Main Street.

The Reverend Michael Kerestes, her pastor will serve as celebrant and homilist. Interment with the Rite of Committal will follow in the parish cemetery, Lake Street Dallas. Relatives and friends may join Mrs. Linker’s family for visitation and remembrances Wednesday evening from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

A Parastas service will be offered for the blessed repose of her soul Wednesday evening at 6:00 p.m. with Father Kerestes officiating.
