Rev Raymond G Bardowell , August 08, 1930 — October 07, 2018

Rev. Raymond George Bardowell, 88, of Wake Forest, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, surrounded by his family, on Sunday, October 7, 2018. The Rev Raymond George Bardowell was born and raised in Kingston, Jamaica to the late George Assad Bardowell and Emelia Yamin Milkie Bardowell until his migration to the United States in February 1982.

He attended the Wolmers Boy School and later in life after he attended the Jamaica Theological Seminary he went on to receive his Masters in Pastoral Counseling from Andrews University. Rev. Bardowell served as the Lead Pastor in several churches in Michigan through his association with the American Baptist Association.

Upon moving to Smithfield NC in 2008, he had an active television ministry and upon moving to Wake Forest, NC in 2015 he had an active video broadcast and Facebook ministry. Raymond’s passion was sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Funeral services will be held at 3 o’clock, Wednesday afternoon, October 10, 2018 at Clancy Strickland Wheeler Funeral Home.

Burial will follow in the Wake Forest Cemetery. Rev. Bardowell is survived by his children, Alaina Bambi Ziadie of Boca Raton, FL, Catherine Ann Gouge & husband Terry of Raleigh, Anna Michelle Slaydon & husband Christopher of Elon, Sarah Jayne Montgomery & husband Daniel of Mansfield, OH and Stephen Raymond Bardowell & wife Crystal of Copperas Cove, TX; grandchildren, Bailey Reynolds, Cosima Bardowell, Immanuel Bardowell, Avalena Rose Slaydon and Corin Bardowell; brother, Ralph Bardowell of Canada; many extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandson, Jordan Phillip Ziadie; siblings, William Bardowell, Alphonso Bardowell, Sylvia Bardowell-Lazarus, Mal Bardowell-Sacaan, Lloyd Bardowell and Hypha Bardowell-Smatt. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Rev. Bardowell’s memory to the Tri-Area Ministry Food Pantry, 149 E Holding Avenue, Wake Forest, NC 27587.
