Obituary for Richard Alan Cox Richard Alan Cox, Pineville, Kentucky passed away on November 24th, 2018 at the University of Kentucky Veterans Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky after a short battle with cancer. Richard was born on February 3, 1962 to Freida Hoskins Cox and Otis “Buddy” Cox, Jr. in Pineville, Kentucky. He is preceded in death by his grandparents Otis and Gladys Cox and William and Minnie Hoskins.
Also preceding him in death was his father Otis “Buddy” Cox, Jr., the mother of two of his children Nancy Howard, his son William Wesley Cox and his niece Amiliana Jeree Patterson. He is survived by his mother Freida Cox Hampton, his children Daughters Jody (Allen) Lingar and Auhdree James. His sons Zachary Rodriguez and Buddy Alan (Amanda) Cox.
His grandchildren, Braxton, Braiden, and Hayden Lingar, Riley and Wesley Cox, and Ember James. Also surviving his brother Michael Cox, his sisters Cheryl Fuson, Kim Haley, and Lisa Fuson and his brother-n-laws whom he called his brothers Arnold Fuson, Toby Haley, and Gary Fuson and a host of nieces and nephews. Richard served in the US Navy for seven years where he was stationed at Twenty Nine Palms Naval Base in California.
After his service in the Navy he worked for Toyota in Georgetown, Kentucky and Armstrong in Somerset, Kentucky. Richard loved his family and friends with all his heart. His children and his grandchildren were his pride and joy.
His smile and his laughter were contagious. He enjoyed playing his guitar, singing, and watching the University of Kentucky Wildcats! He gave everyone a nickname (whether you liked his nickname or not) but the most important thing he achieved in his life was he accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal savior.
The family will celebrate his life on Wednesday November 28th, 2018 at Brooks-Durham Funeral Home in Pineville, Kentucky from 6-8 pm.
