Richard’s Obituary Richard Allen Smith, age 57, was called home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 4th, 2018. He was born July 13th, 1961, to Carl Smith and Anna Madeline (Goodson) Smith. Richard attended Tenmile Elementary School, and Douglas High School.

He met the love of his life Stacie Rai Geyer in 1981. They were married in 1987, and had two sons: Emmitt Allen in 1992, and Wyatt Raymond in 1996. They enjoyed 4-wheeling, hunting, fishing, camping, and many other outdoor activities.

He especially loved jet boating and camping along the Rogue River, and his annual hunting trips. He worked the majority of his life in the woods, owning his first log truck in 1983. Richard was a self-made, first generation logger with the help of his wife Stacie.

He started salvage and CAT logging in the 1990s, and then moved to yarder logging in January of 1996. His brother Carl T. Smith joined him in December 1996, and his son, Emmitt Smith, in 2010. Richard’s personality, wit, and heart of gold allowed him to make friends everywhere he went.

Richard was preceded in death by his mother Anna Madeline Smith and his father, Carl Smith. He leaves his wife Stacie; his two sons, Emmitt and Wyatt; Emmitt’s girlfriend Heather Wilson, two grandchildren, Averi Lorraine Marie Wilson; and another granddaughter, Olivia Grace Rai Smith, to be born in February 2019; three sisters: Brenda Poland, Carla Reagles, Carol Tsarnas; and two brothers, Carl T. Smith and David Smith; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
