Richard’s Obituary Richard Bruce Partlo Bay City, Michigan Mr. Richard (Dick) Partlo passed away January 25, 2019 at McLaren Bay Region with family by his side. Age 78 years. He was born September 27, 1940 in Bay City, Michigan.

The son of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond and Beth (Tobias) Partlo. Sandra Whalen and Richard Partlo were united in marriage on June 24, 1961 at the Akron United Methodist Church. Richard was an educator at Mayville High School, Caro High School and Cass City Middle School as a Guidance Counselor for 28 years.

He was an active member of Akron, Caro, Aldersgate United Methodist Churches and Bay Shore Camp. He captured life moments as a Professional Photographer for 50 years, Family Farmer, Teacher of Industrial Arts, President of Akron-Fairgrove School Board & Trustee for 7 years, Stephen Ministries, Success Motivation Institute Graduate, Gideon, and Rotarian. He cherished to learn about science, conservation and wildlife.

Leisure Boating, Bowling and writing quotes were a passion of Richard’s. He was a graduate of Akron High School 1958. BS Degree Major Industrial Arts-minors in Drafting and Conservation 1962.

Master’s Degree: Industrial Education 1969 and Guidance Counseling K-12 1974. All achieved from Central Michigan University, Mt. Pleasant, Michigan Always encouraged young people to inspire others to do the best their God talents because, “The Good That You Do Will Come Back to You” and “What we are is God’s gift to us, what we become is our gift to God”.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife Sandra (Whalen) Partlo of 57 years. Four children, Teri (Gerald) Best of Pickney, MI; Kurt (Cheryl Pike) Partlo of Sanford, MI; Twin Lori (Pastor Dan) Miller of Gregory, MI; Twin Lisa (Frederick) Wasco; Grandchildren Ashley (Dejan) Korkut of Mountain View, CA; Kyle (Gabrielle Mott) Partlo of Grandville, MI; Chad, Kaylee, Chelsea and Julia, Sister’s, Joyce (David) Loomis of Bay City, MI and Mona Partlo of Esville, MI. Close friend of the family Mariana Chevaz of Bay City, MI; Sister-in-law Judy (Whalen) Beach of Esville, MI; Brother-In-Law Kim (Charmaine) Whalen of Frankenmuth, MI.

Several nieces, nephews and many God loving friends, Richard was preceded in death by his Brother-In-Law Larry Beach and his parents Raymond and Beth Partlo of Akron, MI. Funeral and Committal Services will take place on Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. with private interment in Demorest Cemetery in Akron Township, MI. The family will be present at the funeral home on Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services to receive family and friends.
