Mr. Richard Clyde Lanier, age 80, of Douglas, GA passed away on Thursday, May 3, 2018, at Vista Park. Lanier was born on March 20, 1938, in Durham, North Carolina to the late Brasel Lanier and Ida Lanier. Survivors include: Wife:Betty Day Lanier of Douglas, GA.

; Son: Tommy (Lynn) Harrell of Douglas, GA, Son: Tony Harrell of Gallatin, TN, Son: Terry (Hollie) Harrell of Gallatin, TN, Grandchildren: Joshua Harrell, Courtney Sheffield, Hannah Roberts, Hayden Harrell and Six Great Grandchildren. Mr. Lanier was preceded in death by: Father: Brasel Lanier, Mother: Ida Lanier. The family will receive friends Saturday, May 5, 2018 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 Pm at Sims Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, May 6, 2018 at 4:00 Pm at the Sims Funeral Home with Rev. John Carver officiating. Interment to follow at the City of Douglas Cemetery.

Sims Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
