Richard David Pierce, Sr. of Monroeville, NJ passed away Wednesday, February 20, 2019 at the age of 72 at home surrounded by family. Rich was born to Guy and Pearl Pierce on March 7, 1946 in Woodbury, NJ. He married Mary Lou (Powell) on October 11, 1969 and together had 4 children.

He operated and owned his own excavating business and was an artist in metal as he built two ’41 Plymouth Coupes. Rich was a member of Friendship United Methodist Church & The Lugg Nuttzz car club. “Pea Pop” shared a very special bond with his grandson Tanner as they both have a passion for heavy equipment and hot rods.

Rich is survived by his wife Mary Lou, his children Ruth Anne, Richard Jr, Rachael (Brian) and Rebekah, his grandson Tanner as well as his brother Harry Pierce and sister Betty Ann DelMonte. A luncheon and service will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2019 from 1 to 4 PM for family and friends at the Elmer Fire Department, 110 Penn Street, Elmer NJ 08318. The family is grateful for all condolences and are asking that, in lieu of flowers, a donation be made in his memory to Habitat for Humanity, 416 S. Pennsville Auburn Road, Carneys Point NJ 08069.
