Richard (Dick) Fetterman, 77, of Catawissa, PA, in the presence of his loving family, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday October 31, 2018. He was born July 29, 1941, in Bloomsburg, a son of the late Amos and Erma (Schwalm) Fetterman. He was preceded in death by his parents as well as two brothers; J. Thomas and Roger Fetterman.

Dick was a graduate of Ralpho Township High School, and lived a full and meaningful life. He was a Columbia County Conservation District board member, serving as chairman for over 23 years, and was named Director Emeritus in 2015. He was an exceptional farmer, receiving the R.J. Campbell award in 2001 for his exemplary farmland conservation practices in Columbia County.

He was also an away winning sales representative for the Pioneer Seed Company. Dick was secretary/treasurer of the Franklin Township for more than 40 years. He was devoted to his church; St. Paul’s Evangelical Church and served on Church Council.

Additionally, Dick was a Free Mason and a member of Elysburg Lodger #349. Dick is survived by his wife the former Mary Ellen Roberts, whom he married December 23, 1961, two sons; Stephen Fetterman and wife Stephanie of Kingwood, TX, John Fetterman and his wife Wendy of Catawissa, six grandchildren; Alyssa, Alexa, Zachary, Samantha, Nicholas, and Haley. As well as his brother Harry Fetterman and wife Gail of Sugarloaf, PA.

Dick’s family would also like to extend its deepest heartfelt thanks to Margaret Rarig, who served as Dick’s devoted caregiver for many years. At his core, Dick was an outstanding farmer; devoted to his family, church, community, and his land. Services will be Saturday November 3, 2018 at 2:30 pm at St. Paul’s Evangelical Church, 27 Ringtown Mt.

Rd. , Catawissa with his pastor, Pastor Gordon Smith officiating. Burial will follow at the Parish Cemetery.

Friends may call from 1:00 pm until time of service at the church. In lieu of flowers contributions in his memory may be sent to the church. Family and friends may send online condolences to allenrhornefuneralhome.com.
