Richard E. “Dick” Myers, 85, of Dayton, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Thursday, Nov. 29, 2018. He was born in Templeton, on Sept.

11, 1933, to the late Thomas “T. G” and Vera (Schall) Myers. Dick was a lifelong resident of Templeton, and an Iron Worker with Local No.

3. He also attended the Dayton United Methodist Church and was a member of the Masonic Lodge 805 and the New Castle Consistory. Mr. Myers enjoyed NASCAR, the Pittsburgh Steelers, boating, camping, and fishing.

He also loved spending time with his family, especially grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Dick leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife, Mary (Slagle) Myers, of Dayton; son, Richard Myers, Jr., of Templeton; daughters, Tawnya (Tom) Huff, of Dayton, and Kelly (Steve) Atwood, of Kittanning; grandchildren, Travis Myers and Aleena Howard, of Templeton; Tiffani (Bob) Stadtmiller, of Dayton; Brittani (Cory) Mumford, of Smicksburg; Steffani (Josh) Winslow, of Dayton; Cory Atwood, of Kittanning; Jamie (Courtney) Atwood, of Kittanning; Marlee Atwood and Jake Petras, of Ford City; great-grandchildren, McKenzie and Trent Stadtmiller, Paisley and Piper Mumford, Lorelei Atwood, Chaz and Mason Atwood, and Kamryn Petras; sister, Nancy (Jack) Fyock; and sister-in-law, Pat Myers. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son, Douglas Myers; three brothers, Thomas, Abe “A.

J”, and Jim who was the first soldier killed in the Korean War at 18-years-old; and sister, Janet (Dick) Lingler. Dick’s family would like to thank all the caretakers at Life Armstrong for the care they gave. Family and friends will be received on Sunday, Dec.

2, 2018, in the Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home, 200 S. McKean St., Kittanning, from 1-4 and 6-8 p.m. A masonic service will be held at 7 p.m. on Sunday in the funeral home. Additional viewing will be held on Monday in the funeral home from 10 a.m. until time of services at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Dennis Howard officiating.

Burial will follow in Cochran Cemetery in Templeton. In lieu for flowers, memorial contributions made to the Dayton United Methodist Church, 105 E. Church Ave. , Dayton, Pa.
