Obituary for Richard Eldon Willbur Passed away Wednesday morning, May 30, 2018. Richard was born January 6, 1932 in Battle Creek, MI the son of the late Maurice and Thelma (Hewitt) Willbur. Richard was a man of strong Christian faith since a young age and proved this by his life and spirit.

He was employed with Warner Vineyards and Broekhuizen Trucking. Richard enjoyed farming, reading, traveling, and spending time with his family. On March 21, 1953 he was united in marriage to his loving wife Norma (Stephenson), who preceded him in death on April 13, 2011.

He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Susan Griffith; grandson, Clinton Griffith; and son-in-law, Max Lohrberg. Surviving are his children, Patricia (Greg) Lockhart, Daniel (Liz) Willbur, Rebecca (Craig) Wolski, Diane (John) Anderson, John Willbur; son-in-law, Chuck (Elaine) Griffith; 10 grandchildren, Brion (Gena) Griffith, Jeff Griffith, Jonathan Lockhart, Nicholas Lockhart, Moriah Willbur, Micah Willbur, Emily (Shaun) Durkee, Anna Wolski, Paige Wolski, Kyle Lohrberg; 6 great-grandchildren; brother and sister, Tom (Shirley) Willbur, Doris Willbur; and several nieces and nephews. Friends may meet the family from 2-4pm Sunday, June 3 at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 South 9th Street where funeral services will follow at 4:00pm.

A time of fellowship will follow in the Langeland Family Center. Interment will be held at 11:00am Monday, June 4 at Hicks Cemetery in Pennfield Township, 21761 Capital Ave N.E. Memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association. To view Richard’s personalized guestbook please visit www.
