Obituary for Richard Gann Richard Gann, 64, of Matawan, NJ, passed away on Monday, April 9, 2018 in Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank, New Jersey. He was born in Elizabeth, NJ and was raised in Marlboro before moving to Matawan 22 years ago. He was a 1971 graduate from Marlboro High School.
He had 38 years of service working as an Engineer for Marlboro Psych. Hospital and Woodbridge Dev. Center and he retired in 2010.
Richard loved his Irish heritage and had an infectious personality. He was someone that would talk to anyone and easily made friends no matter where he went. He is described by his neighbors as the Mayor of Johnson Avenue.
Rich will be remembered as being “one of a kind”, straightforward, to the point, and extremely humorous. Richard was knowledgeable and someone who can always be counted on. He had an amazing love for his family.
Richard was an avid collector of classic cars and hot rods. His memory will continue to live on with those that he has touched. He leaves behind his wife of 32 years, Denise Gann, two sons, Rick and Michael Gann, a daughter Heather Gann, two brothers and sisters-in-law Edward and Lennie Gann, and Kenneth and Regina Gann, four grandchildren, Shane, James, Ricky and Liam, and many nieces nephews and friends.
Rich was predeceased by his brother Russell Gann. Relatives and friends are invited to gather for a memorial visitation on Saturday, April 14, 2018 from 9 AM to 11 AM at Waitt Funeral Home, Morganville. A funeral mass will take place at 11 AM at St. Clement Church, Matawan followed by inurnment at St. Gabriel Cemetery and Mausoleum.
