Richard Glen Gestewitz, Jr., 53 of Charlestown, MD, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, October 16, 2018. Born in Havre de Grace, MD, on December 15, 1964, he was the son of Richard G. Gestewitz, Sr. of Charlestown, MD and the late Nancy Jean (Sartin) Gestewitz. Rick served his country proudly in the U.S. Navy, retiring after 20 years of service working in the Explosive Ordnance Disposal Division.

He was a member of the American Legion, King George, VA and enjoyed hunting, fishing, crabbing, diving, working out at the gym, and researching/collecting Native American Artifacts. In addition to his father, survivors include his children: Catherine Marie “Cammie” Storms of Philadelphia, PA and Richard G. “Chad” Gestewitz, III of Spanish Fort, AL; his grandmother: Lillian Poore of Chesapeake City, MD; and many good friends. Funeral service, conducted by Rev.

Greg Halsey will be held Sunday, October 21, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Crouch Funeral Home, P.A., 127 South Main Street, North East, MD, where visitation will be held on Saturday evening, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Interment will follow services in Charlestown Cemetery, Charlestown, MD.
