Mr. Richard Lee Hudson of Gumboro, DE passed away on Wednesday, October 24, 2018. He was 69 years old. Richard was born on May 4, 1949 to the late Preston L. and Madelyn Phillips Hudson.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a brother Preston Lee Hudson, Jr He worked as a carpenter and a feed mill operator. Richard enjoyed hunting, fishing, reading the newspaper especially the Delaware State News and the Daily Times.

He enjoyed having fun and hanging out with the guys. Richard also liked watching football, baseball and horse racing. Everyone loved him even though he could be stubborn and ornery at times.

Richard is survived by two sisters, Janice Perdue (James) of Gumboro, DE and Joyce Brittingham (Gary) of Gumboro, DE: a nephew, J.R. Perdue (Beth) and a niece, Nicole Oliphant (D.J.) as well as great nieces and nephews, Madelyn Baum, Brooke Brittingham, Nicholas Brittingham, Dylan Perdue, Caleb Perdue, Joseph Tracy, and a great great niece, Savannah Brittingham. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, October 28, 2018 at the Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro, DE 19966, where friends may call from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM for viewing and visitation. Burial will follow in the Millsboro Cemetery.
