Richard’s Obituary Richard “Rick” “PawPaw Rick” Dean Queenan 70, passed away at his residence on Sunday, May 5, 2019, surrounded by his family. He was born in Lake Charles, LA to Edward and Isabelle Colter Queenan. He attended LaGrange High School.

When he was younger, Rick enjoyed dancing with his wife and riding motorcycles and horses with his sons and wife. As a heavy equipment operator, Rick loved his work and the machines that made his job possible. Rick’s favorite get-away was the beach and vacationed there regularly with his family.

His family was one of his most prize possessions. He was fun to be around and always loved to make people laugh, and always willing to help those in need. Rick was “Jean Lafitte” of Contraband Days in 1986.

Rick was a Third Degree Knight of Columbus, Council 4562 of Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. Those left to cherish his memory include the love of his life, his wife of 52 years, , Linda Lognion Queenan; children, Richard Tyson Queenan (Genne) and Trent Everett Queenan; grandchildren Ryan Queenan, Kaylin Trahan (Johnny ), Lindsay, Luke, Zachary, Emily, Trent Lane, Trace, Kloey, Kiley and Tyler Queenan; three great-grandchildren. siblings, Michael Queenan (Gwen) and Diane Queenan Thibodeaux; his lifelong friend, Harold Fontenot and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins and extended family of the heart.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Shirley Bond. The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation and gratitude to the nurses, doctors and staff of Heart of Hospice for their exceptional care and to Genne Queenan and Elise Smith for taking such exquisite care of Rick in his final days. Visitation will be Tuesday, May 7, 2019 at Johnson Funeral Home from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM with rosary at 6:00 PM.

Visitation will continue Wednesday from 9:30 AM until 10:45 AM at the funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be observed at 11:30 AM on Wednesday at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church with Monsignor Danny Torres serving as celebrant. Entombment will follow at Consolata Cemetery.
