Richard (Rick) Babcock of Pearl River, NY passed away on Sunday, February 10, 2019 at his home. He was 59. Rick was a journeyman for the Local 363 IBEW for many years until 2009.

Rick was born November 7, 1959 in Suffern, NY to Kenneth and Joan Babcock. He was a graduate of Pearl River High School, Class of 1977. Locally, he was a member of the Sons of the American Legion Post 329, Pearl River.

Rick will be remembered for his quick wit, one liners, love of the bass guitar and the Grateful Dead. Most of all for the love of his children. He is survived by his mother, Joan Babcock of Pearl River; wife, Susan Ward Babcock; sons, Jeffrey and Dylan Babcock of Pearl River; daughter, Melanie (David) Villegas of Belleville, NJ; grandchildren, Vanessa, Jeremy and Jessie Villegas; sisters, Teresa (David) Warner of Pearl River and Nancy Babcock (Dave) Way of NC and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by his father, Kenneth and brother, Edward. Visiting is Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at Wyman-Fisher Funeral Home Inc. A Mass of Christian burial will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday at St. Margaret R. C. Church, Pearl River. Burial will follow at St. Anthony Cemetery, Nanuet, NY.
