Obituary of Richard Bortz Sr. Richard F. Bortz Sr., 70, of Kutztown, passed away on Monday, July 16, 2018 at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township, PA. Born April 3, 1948 in Allentown, he was the son of Anna M. (Rothermel) Bortz, Topton, and the late Franklin R. Bortz. Richard delivered the Merchandiser for over 20 years.

He was a member of Zion’s Union Church, Maxatawny, the Kempton Rod & Gun Club, the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation and the National Rifle Association. Richard attended the Kutztown Area School District and loved hunting, fishing and coin collecting. Richard is survived by his wife, Betty A. (Lesher) Bortz, his son, Richard F. Bortz Jr., fiancee of Sherry A. Guldin, Kutztown, his grandchildren, Hallie A. Bortz and Brandon A. Bortz, his brothers, Ronald L. Bortz, husband of Cathy (Peters) Bortz, Kutztown and David C. Bortz, Johnstown, PA and by his sister, Carol A. (Bortz) Reimert, Lenhartsville.

In addition to his father, Richard was preceded in death by a sister, Sandy Bortz. Funeral Services for Richard will be held on Monday, July 23, 2018 at 4:00 pm at Walbert Funeral Home & Cremation Services, PC, 14390 Kutztown Rd, Fleetwood. A viewing will be held Monday, from 3:00 to 4:00 pm at the funeral home.
