Obituary of Richard Seaton, Sr. Richard Gale Seaton, Sr. 85, of Salisbury, died on Wednesday, January 30, 2019 peacefully at his home. Born on January 28, 1934 in Follansbee, WV, he was the son of the late Archie and Florence Seaton. Gale graduated from Wicomico High School.

Following his graduation, he entered the United States Marine Corp. In 1965, Gale started Seaton Electric, which he operated until his retirement in 1996. In his younger years, he enjoyed bowling and traveled often for tournaments across the United States.

Gale was a member of the Lion’s Club in Fruitland, where he was very involved in many functions. Gale enjoyed bus trips with his wife, Elaine and walking, where he was known by many as Beep Beep. He was a member of the Wicomico AARP, the Salvation Army Senior Center, and the Ocean Waves Square Dance Club.

In addition to his community involvement, he was a past member of Jerusalem Church in Parsonsburg and a current member of St. John’s United Methodist Church in Fruitland. Gale is survived by his wife Elaine Seaton; two daughters, Debra Hawkins and her husband Ronald and Donna Kerr and her husband Jim; a son, Richard Gale Seaton Jr.and his wife Deborah; five grandsons, Ryan Hawkins, Brandon Green, Chad Green and his wife Hailey, Rogan Kerr, and Jonah Kerr; a granddaughter, Autumn Anderson and her husband Chris; two Great-granddaughters, Kaylie Anderson and Caitlyn Anderson; four brothers, Jack Seaton and his wife Gladys, Jerry Seaton, Robert Seaton and his wife Pearl, Ralph Seaton and his wife Bonnie; as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Gale is preceded in death by two brothers, Charles Seaton and Donald Seaton, and his first wife, Betty Brown Seaton.

A celebration of Gale’s life will be held on Monday, February 4, 2019 at 12pm at St. John’s United Methodist Church on Main Street in Fruitland with Pastor Karen Sadvari. A visitation with the family will be held one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Gale’s honor to Coastal Hospice or St. John’s United Methodist Church.
