Richard L. Patten Sr., 77 of North Fort Myers passed away November 12, 2018. He was the son of Liston and Louise Patten, born September 30, 1941 in Newark, OH. Richard served in the United States Navy, until his honorable discharge in 1961.

He later retired as a Department Manager from AT&T/ Lucent in 1994. Richard was a past Master for the Masonic lodge in Newark, OH; the former Chairman of the Board for Telhio Credit Union; past member of Granville Methodist Church in Granville, OH. In 1999, following his retirement Richard moved to FL and in 2004 moved to the North Fort Myers area that he and his wife Karen Patten called home.

Richard loved to sing in the choir and serving his Lord, and was an associate member of the Peace River Baptist Church in Punta Gorda, FL. He enjoyed Nascar; playing golf; watching his beloved Ohio State Football and especially time spent with his wife Karen, their children and the many friends he’s made along the way. Richard will be greatly missed by his wife of 35 years, Karen; daughters, Debra of Alva, FL; Michele Huscher of Alva, FL; son, Richard “Rich” Patten Jr. of Wilmington, NC; sister, Alice Hart of Granville, OH; grandchildren, Anna of WY; Katie of FL; Nicole of TX; and Danielle of FL.

A Celebration of Richard’s Life will be held at 11:00 AM on November 17, 2018 at Peace River Baptist Church, 478 Berry Street, Punta Gorda.
