Obituary for Rita M. Murphy RIta Kozlowski Murphy (nee Romano) age 98. Rita passed away peacefully the morning of Dec 27th, 2018. Predeceased by both of her husbands; Joseph A Kozlowski and later Edward M Murphy also seven sisters.

Devoted mother of Dennis M Kozlowski (Antonietta) and Joseph J Kozlowski (Eva). Survived by her two children, four grandchildren; Ashlie, Natalie, Steven & Kristin; seven great grandchildren; brother Anthony (Terry) Romano and many nieces and nephews. Rita was born and raised in South Philadelphia to the late Vincent and Carmella Romano (DeSantis).

She was a graduate of South Philadelphia High School and employed by both Strawbridges & Clothier and Wyeth Labs in Malvern Pa. Rita was a longtime resident of Springfield from 1959 to her passing in 2018. A very active and devoted member of her St Francis of Assisi Church community serving as Treasurer and two terms as President of the Saint Francis Women’s Club.

Rita greatly enjoyed travel taking trips to Europe, Alaska and many bus excursions with the Over 50 Club to Branson Missouri and the Atlantic City Casinos. Rita will be missed. She was a true Christian always peaceful, prayerful, and doing Gods work.

Visitation: Thursday (1/3/19), 9:30 AM at St Francis of Assisi Church 136 Saxer Ave. Springfield Pa. Funeral Mass: Thursday, 10:30 AM at St Francis of Assisi Church.

Interment : Holy Cross Cemetery, Yeadon, Pa. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St Jude Hospital or Providence Animal Center in Media, Pa. To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Rita M. Murphy please visit our Sympathy Store.
