OBITUARY Rita Rae Peoples July 9, 1943 – January 3, 2019 Mrs. Rita Rae Peoples, age 75, native of Choteau, Montana and longtime resident of Saraland, AL, passed away on Thursday, January 3, 2019. Mrs. Peoples is preceded in death by her mother, Mary Montana Sholvin. Rita retired after 20 years as a nurse with Springhill Medical Center and University of South Alabama.

She was a member of St. Michael’s Episcopal Church in Chickasaw. Rita was a devoted wife and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who enjoyed Auburn football and was an avid Atlanta Braves fan. She was a longtime dialysis patient and made many friendships with other patients and staff.

Rita is survived by her husband of 53 years, Benny Peoples and children; Melissa Hann (Jeff), Jessie Peoples (Lori) and Andrea Byrd (Donald). She is also survived by her siblings; Annie Pursley (Alan), Dolly Annis (George), Betty Lou O’Connor (Pat), Toni Brewster, Chuck Pfrimmer (Wanda), 10 half siblings, six grandchildren; Clay, Fawn, Natalie, Keilan, Jordon, Bryce and two great-grandchildren; Evie and Travis and a host of other family and friends. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday afternoon from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Radney Funeral Home, Saraland, AL.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial donations may offered to St. Jude’s Childrens Hospital Research. Condolences may be offered at www. radneyfuneralhome-saraland.com.
