Robert’s Obituary Funeral services for Robert Lester Benton will be held 2pm Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Carter officiating. There will be a prayer service 6pm on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at Brownfield Funeral Home.

Robert passed away on Saturday, January 5, 2019 in Brownfield. He was born March 15, 1952 in Long Beach, CA to Theodore Teddy and Laura Delores (Keele) Benton. Robert married Janie Kay Perez on February 27, 1988 in Brownfield.

He retired from the City of Brownfield and then worked for and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Robert also served as a volunteer Firefighter and was a certified EMT. Robert loved spending time with his family and watching Fox News.

There was nothing he couldn’t fix. Robert is preceded in death by his parents, Theodore and Delores Benton, and sister, Linda Benton. Robert is survived by his wife, Janie Benton; three children, Plutarco Castro and companion, Meagen, Yesana Castro and husband, Gilbert, Laura Rodriguez; 7 grandchildren, Kristian, Izaiah, Ricky, Nediana, Roman, Hezekiah, Teddy; stepmother Maria Benton; niece, Debra McDonald; and dog, Nelly.
