Robert’s Obituary Robert Henry “Bob” Black, 91, husband of the late Betty Marie (Guthrie) Black, passed away Thursday, May 16, 2019 at Frankfort Regional Medical Center. Born February 3, 1928 in Charleston, IL, Bob was the son of the late James Bernard Black and Mary (Skoczynska) Black. Along with his wife, Bob was preceded in death by his brothers John and James B. Black, Roman, Irvin, Eugene and Frank Paszaleck.

Bob retired as a Master Sergeant working as a Military Electronics Technician at the Bluegrass Army Depot in Avon. He served from 1946 – 1972 with U.S. Air Force and the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and Vietnam War. Bob was a member of the St. Lawrence Catholic Church, the American Legion Post #34, V.F.W. Post in Frankfort, Air Force Sergeant Association, and the MIA/POW Association.

Bob is survived by his three children, Michael David Black and his wife Gin of Richmond, VA, Robert Shawn Black and his wife Julie of Lawrenceburg, and Shelly Ann Williams of Lawrenceburg; four grandchildren, Shay (Diane) Black of Richmond, VA, Jamie Williams of Lawrenceburg, Steve (Alisha) Rucker of Lawrenceburg, and Chris Ratterree of Richmond, VA; four great grandchildren, Wesley Black, Michael Black, Gavin Dishon, and Joel Rucker. Visitation will begin at 1 PM Monday, May 20th followed by the service at 3:00 P.M., Monday at the Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home with Steven Rucker officiating. Burial will follow in the Lawrenceburg Cemetery with full military honors.

Serving as pallbearers will be Ronnie Baker, Rhonda Baker, Mark Coyle, Howard Mountjoy, Ott Elliott, and Mike Ward. Honorary bearers will be Doc’s Boys and the Wild Turkey Trace Guys. Memorials in memory of Bob Black are suggested to the Mothers of Brothers Football, 1893 Leathers Rd.
