Robert Gene Dillman, 82 of Logansport, passed away Thursday, July 12, 2018 at Woodbridge Health Campus in Logansport. Born on February 5, 1936 in Cass County, Indiana, he was the son to the late Carl and Esther (DeWald) Dillman. On August 17, 1958 in the Corinth Brethren Church in Twelve Mile, Indiana he married the love of his life, Linda Lou Long.

They would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary next month. Bob graduated from Twelve Mile High School in 1955 where he enjoyed playing drums in the school band. Bob also played in several band groups that performed for several clubs.

He was loved by his classmates and continued many friendships from those days. Bob’s classmates would visit him regularly throughout his stay at Woodbridge. Bob was a 4-H member and proud of his blue ribbon eggs.

He worked as a Dairy Farmer all his life. He loved his cows and farming his ground, he had also been featured in the Pharos Tribune when one of his cows gave birth to triplet Holstein calves. Bob loved all his animals, but he had a special bond with his Pomeranian Peaches who could always be found sitting at his feet.

One of Bob and Linda’s special projects was their cabin. They loved having campfires, playing croquet and watching their grandchildren play and explore the land. They also enjoyed playing euchre and made some wonderful memories with their card club members every month.

Bob will be remembered for his laughter and pranks he would pull on his friends and family. He cherished the time he spent with his kids, grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Surviving along with his wife Linda, are four children, Lynette Dillman, Logansport; Lisa (Matt) Montgomery, Petersburg, KY; Leslie (Melissa) Dillman, Carmel; Lora (Dave) Redweik, Twelve Mile; grandchildren, Jamie Long (Jimmy Rogers), Fulton; Kathrine Long, Logansport; Remington Montgomery; Braxton Montgomery (Brooke Frohlich); and Landon Montgomery, all of Petersburg, KY; Lauren Dillman, Carmel; Garrett (Erin) Redweik, Indianapolis; Graham Redweik, Ames, IA; great grandchildren, Morgan Ulerick (Shane Swinford); Kolton Ulerick, both of Peru; Klayton Rogers, Fulton; Lennox Redweik, Indianapolis; great great grandson, Noah Swinford, Peru; brothers, Marvin Dillman, Twelve Mile; Carl Edward Dillman, Plymouth.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Tina Marie Dillman; grandson, Klayton Maxwell Long; and a brother Ronald Dillman. A celebration of life will be held from 2:00 – 5:00 PM on Saturday, August 18, 2018 at the Dillman Farm, 4863 North 900 East, Logansport, IN 46947. Memorials may be made to the Corinth Brethren Church, the Parkinson’s Foundation via Parkinson.org, or your favorite charity.
