Obituary for Robert “Bob” Prince Robert Prince 82 “Bob” of Brownwood passed away Thursday, December 13, 2018 in Brownwood. Funeral services will be held Sunday December 16, 2018 at 2pm at the First Baptist Church in Bangs, with burial to follow at the Bangs Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Brownwood Funeral Home located at 2512 Belle Plain, from 10am-12pm Sunday December 16.

Robert was born July 4, 1936 in Bangs TX to Cyril and Virgie Prince. He received his primary education from Bangs independent Schools and after high School he attended Howard Payne University for 4 years. In September 1998 Bob joined the United States Army where he spent 3 years, 2 of which were in Germany.

Robert returned to Bangs in 1961 and bought the Levisay Grocery Store which he operated for 9 years. While in the Grocery business he purchased a farm in Thrifty. In 1970 Bob was elected Mayor of Bangs, and served as the Mayor for 12 years.

In 1971 he went into the construction business, and started building houses in and around Bangs, where he built about 40 houses. In 1971 Bob married and had one daughter Amber, and in 1975 he bought Bangs Hardware from Oren Bauer and operated for 8 years, He then entered the oil and gas industry drilling several wells around Thrifty and Bangs. From 1985 until 2000 he Ranched and operated his Oil and Gas Business, and got out of the Ranching Business in 2001.

His hobbies included hunting, Fishing, Farming, Traveling, Trying new foods, Talking and Meeting new people, but most of all he loved spending time with his Family Left to cherish his memories are daughter Amber Prince of Odessa, grandchildren Angelica, Prince, Jonas Perez, Sadie Perez, Jacob Prince, and Serenity Prince. Brother J.C. Prince Jr., Sister Bettye Marsh. Robert was preceded in death by parents Cyril and Virgie Prince and brother Gene Prince.
