Obituary for Robert “Bob” Wiersberg Robert “Bob” Joseph Wiersberg, age 79, peacefully was called home to God on Thursday, June 14, 2018 at UVA Medical Center in Charlottesville, VA. , while surrounded by his loving family. Bob was born on June 10, 1939 in Brooklyn, New York.

He was the loving son of Wilhelm Wiersberg and Angela Weitz, who immigrated to the United States from Brazil and Germany. After living in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia with his family, Bob attended high school at the American Community School in Beirut, Lebanon. He returned to the USA and was a graduate of Notre Dame University.

Upon his graduation, Bob served in the Army and the Army Reserves. He was employed by the Central Intelligence Agency for 31 years before retiring to Culpeper, VA with his loving wife of 49 years, Constance Wiersberg. Bob was a devoted husband and father and is survived by his brother William Wiersberg of Salisbury, MD.

He has four surviving children; Gwen Behan of Haymarket, VA; Renee Nolan of Markham, VA; Lara Brooks of Richmond, VA and Robert Wiersberg of Arlington, VA. Bob was the proud Papa of nine grandchildren and one great grandchild. Friends and family are encouraged to fellowship together at the viewing, which will be held on Monday, June 18, 2018 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Found and Sons Funeral Home located at 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA 22701.

A Catholic Funeral Mass will be held at Precious Blood Catholic Church located at 114 E Edmondson St, Culpeper, VA 22701 on Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow in St. Peter Catholic Church Cemetery, Washington, VA. In lieu of flowers, charitable donations can be made in the name of Bob Wiersberg to Catholic Charities USA as it was Bob’s mission to lead others to Christ and always encourage them in their spiritual journey.
