Robert C. “Bobby” Gasser had an early morning tee time with God, Arnold Palmer and Chuck Bednarik on May 7, 2019. They better have a sense of humor because Bobby loves to crack a good joke among other things as you line up to tee off. By his side was his devoted and “patient” wife, Julie Gasser.

Born Feb. 9, 1943, to the late Alvin A. Gasser Sr. and Helen (Thompkins) Gasser in Philadelphia, he graduated from Olney High School. He was a master salesman with an MBA from Philadelphia College of Textiles and Sciences.

He and Julie called both Williamsport and Cape May, N.J. home. They enjoyed rescuing pugs and boxers and any other straggler that needed it, four- or two-legged. Bobby enjoyed solving the world’s problems with his boys at Kiwanis in Cape May, where he perfected his deep belly laugh.

Bobby proudly served his country in the United States Navy Reserve. He was a 55-year member, Past Master and 32 degree Mason of the Richmond-Solomon’s Lodge 0003 F&AM in Philadelphia, following the legacy of his late Past Master father and brother, Alvin Jr., Bobby was a member of the Scottish Rite Valley of Philadelphia, Shriners International LuLu Shriners in Plymouth Meeting, Corinthian Yacht Club of Cape May, and enjoyed playing golf as a member of Wildwood and Williamsport Country Clubs. He was also an avid league bowler in Wildwood, N.J. with his cronies.

As a past 50-year season ticket holder for the Philadelphia Eagles, he got to see them win it all with pride. His joy was laughing with and loving Julie. They loved their life, and fun with friends was a priority, on the beach, at a PSU tailgate or flopping around the pool.

He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Julie (Beighley) Gasser, his daughters, Julie Ann Bair, of Williamsport, and Kristin (Kristian) Borcheck, of Jamison, Pa. ; a sister, Sandra (Wayne) Weaver, of Cherry Hill, N.J., and a granddaughter, Katelyn A. Borcheck. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his brother, Alvin A. (Louise) Gasser Jr. In lieu of flowers, raise a glass and have a laugh, or donations in Bobby’s name may be made to The Michael J. Fox Foundation, P.O. Box 5014, Hagerstown, MD 21741-5014.

A memorial service will be private at a later date.
