Robert C Youngberg 1932-2018 Robert (Bob) Youngberg, our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away at his home in South Jordan, Utah on November 8, 2018. Robert was born on December 22, 1932 to Jesse and Crystal Youngberg at the family ranch in McKinnon, Wyoming where he grew up with his brothers and sisters. Bob served in the United States Army from 1953 through 1954, and during this time was stationed in Germany.

He subsequently transferred to the Army Reserves and completed eight years of service. In September 1956, Bob married Ann Frandsen, and together during their 30 year marriage raised their four children in Grantsville, Utah. Bob later married Kathy Skinner, and they eventually made South Jordan their home where they raised Junay and their son Neil.

Bob worked for Questar for 32 years as a serviceman in Tooele County and Salt Lake County. Regardless of where Bob made his home, he shared his time and talents with his community. He was often involved with community events such as the Lion’s club, county fair, local rodeo and riding clubs.

Sometimes using the title of “chief cook and bottle washer”, he would pitch in and do what was needed. Local ranchers could always count on Bob to get the cows and calves to the summer range. Horses were a constant throughout Bob’s life.

He never stopped appreciating them for what they could provide: work on the ranch, teaching children responsibility, performance in competitive events like roping and racing, hauling elk out of the back-country, pleasure riding and companionship. He trained many horses and used them for all of those things. Winter, spring, summer or fall, life was somehow better from the back of a horse.

It could certainly be said that Bob’s life story was written with a horse-hair brush. Bob is preceded in death by his parents, Crystal and Jessie Youngberg; brother-in-laws, Chuck Potter, Ken Kempton, and Junior Medina; son-in-law Albert Scolari and grandson Austin Youngberg. Bob is survived by his wife, Kathy Youngberg; children, Craig Youngberg (Tonja), Michelle Scolari, Wade Youngberg (Joni), Lon Youngberg (Elaine), Junay Hom (Mike) and Neil Youngberg; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and siblings LaRue Potter, Louis Youngberg (Lura Jean), Larry Youngberg (Lauralee), Kay Potter (David), and Janeen Medina.

A memorial service will be held December 8 at 12:00 PM at the South Jordan Community Center located at 10778 South Redwood Road, South Jordan, UT. Bob’s ashes will be scattered on Phil Pico Mountain near his childhood home on June 29, 2019. Grandchildren: Brandon Clarke, Chanda Clarke, Casey Youngberg (Cristin), Ryan Youngberg (Ashley), Jeff Youngberg (Anngie), Hadley Youngberg (Brooke), Cody Youngberg (Farrah), Camille Loudenback (Alec), Christopher Youngberg, Lara Youngberg and Jordan Youngberg.

Great-Grandchildren: Sky, Drake, Ryley, Morgan, Branson, Kaitlyn, Kalen, Dylan, Berklee, Kaizley, Sawyer, and Finley.
