OBITUARY Robert E. Swanson November 13, 1929 – February 2, 2019 Robert E. “Bob” Swanson, 89 of Mt. Prospect was born November 13, 1929 in Chicago and passed away February 2, 2019 in Glenview, IL. Bob was the beloved husband of Mae (nee Pusey) Swanson and caring father of Judith (Fritz) McCorkle and David Swanson and cherished grandfather of Eric and Gloria Swanson.

He was preceded in death by his parents Earl and Gertrude (nee Schenk) Swanson, his brother Earl Swanson and sister-in-law Lore Swanson of Walsrode, Germany and his daughter-in-law Marion Swanson. Bob was a certified Tai Chi instructor and taught classes for many years through the local park districts and the Frisbie Senior Center. This brought him much pleasure and many friends.

He also had a great interest in genealogy and spent many years researching family histories. He was also a long-time Mason and past master of Sunset (now Pleiades) Lodge and a Scottish Rite member. The family wishes to thank The Abington of Glenview and Rainbow Hospice for their care and concern for Bob.

Visitation will be Tuesday, February 5, 2019 from 3PM until 8PM at Lauterburg & Oehler Funeral Home, 2000 E. Northwest Highway, Arlington Heights, IL 60004 where funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 6 at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Ridgewood Memorial Park, 9900 N. Milwaukee Avenue, Des Plaines. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Trinity Lutheran Church, Attn: Good News Garage, 675 E. Algonquin Road, Des Plaines, IL 60016.
