Robert Earl Nedley September 2, 1938 – December 22, 2018 Mr. Robert Earl Nedley, 80, of Port St. Joe, FL, passed away on Saturday, December 22, 2018 in Rome, GA. Mr. Nedley was born in Chipley, FL on September 2, 1938 to Ivory C. and Evelyn Nedley. He was a longtime resident of Port St. Joe and retired as President and CEO of St. Joe Paper Company and President of the Alfred I. Dupont Foundation, Inc

Mr. Nedley was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp and the St. Peter’s Anglican Church. He was also a member of the American Paper Institute, Chamber of Commerce, Shark Booster Club, Chairman of Pulp and Paper Association, President of St. Joe Jaycees, officer of the Lion’s Club, served on the board of Port St. Joe Pilot commissioners and served eight years on the Port St. Joe Port Authority. Mr. Nedley is preceded in death by his parents and three sisters, Mary Kathleen Eells, Iva Mae Herring and Melba C. Brown.

He is survived by his wife, Charlotte Lovelace Nedley; two sons, Robert Paul Nedley of Port St. Joe and Richard Phillip Nedley (Heather) of Arcadia, FL; one daughter Patricia Nedley Williams (Kip) of Ranger, GA; one adopted daughter, Denise Williams Spears (David) of Panama City, FL; five grandchildren, Porter Nedley, Ben Williams, Abel Nedley, Brook and Bailey Williams; one cousin Dorothy Burge: three nephews, Rodney Herring (Pamela), Michael Eells (Daphne), Bryon Eells III ( Janelle); four nieces, Carla Mathis (Chick), Judy Williams (Rick), Barbara Eells, Delores Senn-Eells (Rudei) and many other great and great-great nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. EST, Friday, December 28, 2018 at St. Peter’s Anglican Church in Port St. Joe with Rev. Lou Little and Father Tom Guido officiating.

The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 a.m. EST at the church. Interment will follow in Holly Hill Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be: Phillip Collier, Marlin Taylor, Danny Tankersley, Jacob Tankersley, Ken Kennington and Buddy Renfro.
