He lived in Deer Creek for a while, then moved to Minneapolis, living there until he joined the Air Force. Bob met Juanita at the Walker Air Force Base in Roswell, New Mexico, where she was a waitress. They were married March 8, 1952, living in Roswell, New Mexico for another year before moving Juanita back to Deer Creek to be with his family while he finished his Air Force career in Alaska.

After returning from Alaska, he and Juanita settled in Dayton, Minnesota, where he was a painter and contractor. In 1991, they moved to their current home in Remer, Minnesota. Bob and Juanita were married for 64 years and had four children, Bob, Patty, Debbie and Kenny.

He loved being outside, watching the deer, feeding the birds and just enjoying his yard. He enjoyed his collection of old toys, but most of all he loved spending time with family and friends. Bob was a loving husband, father, grandpa, great grandpa, brother, uncle, and friend.
