Obituary for Mr. Robert Eugene Bastan Robert Eugene Bastan, 86, of Tinton Falls, NJ passed away on December 6, 2018 following his extraordinary and fulfilling life. He was born in Jersey City, NJ and pursued his dreams living around the world in New Jersey, Venezuela, Brazil and Florida. Bob proudly served in the US Army during the Korean War and was a graduate of Rutgers University.

He worked domestically and internationally for more than 38 years with Union Carbide and Smith Kline & French, attaining senior corporate executive positions with countless achievements in the finance and management fields. Bob is survived by Nancy Bastan, his wonderful wife of 65 years, 6 loving children, a daughter in-law and 4 son in-laws and 13 grandchildren. Bob enjoyed baseball, tennis and golf while indulging in boating and beaching with his large family in Avalon, NJ.

Bob was a leading member of the Rotary Club while actively volunteering his time to the United Way and many community events. Bob was predeceased by his parents Charles and Mary Bastan. Family and faith mattered the most to Bob as he embraced everything in life.

He devoted himself unconditionally to his immediate and extended family and his love and fun spirit touched the lives of countless people worldwide. Bob also devoted his soul and spirit to the Catholic faith while actively volunteering his assistance to churches throughout his life. Friends and family are invited to the viewings from 2pm to 4pm and 7pm to 9pm on Tuesday December 11, 2018 at the Ely Funeral Home, Neptune, NJ.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday December 12, 2018 at 11am at Holy Innocents, Neptune, NJ followed by the interment at Monmouth Memorial Park, Tinton Falls, NJ.
