Obituary for Robert Reed Robert Eugene Reed, 88, passed peacefully away on September 29, 2018, in Houston, TX. Bob, as he was known by family and friends, was born August 20, 1930, in El Reno, OK, to the late Addie Lee (Castles) and John C. Reed. The family later moved to Martha, OK, where Bob grew up living on the family farm.

He graduated from Marth High School in 1947. Bob graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture from Oklahoma State University with honors on May 28, 1951. Immediately after college he joined the Air Force Reserve and received an Honorable Discharge in 1954.

Bob moved to Houston and embarked in a successful career in real estate. He started his real estate career with Saffold Real Estate. In the early 1980s, he joined Robin Elverson Real Estate Company.

Bob was awarded many fabulous vacations as a Top Producer. In 1989 he joined John Daugherty Realtors, where he continued his successful career until his retirement in 2012. Bob loved theater and was an avid fan of the Alley Theater, as well as all the smaller theaters in town.

Everyone agrees, “he was INTERESTING and INTERESTED”. He knew every new building, every new restaurant and was familiar with everything in the city of Houston. He volunteered at the InTown Chamber of Commerce and the Upper Kirby District where he was loved and appreciated.

He served on the board, including serving as past President, for the Glendower Court Homeowners Association. Bob was the best guest you could have at a party or any event. He would talk to anyone about anything and was blessed with the ability to make others feel heard and appreciated.

He will be greatly missed. Bob was survived by seven nieces and nephews who loved him dearly: Kelly Norman and husband John, Amarillo, TX; Rhonda Jackson and husband Jerry Don, Blair, OK; Steven Seymour and wife Donna, Lawton, OK; Cheryl Seymour-Walker, Cache, OK; Michael Reed and wife Megan, Wichita Falls, TX; John Reed, Martha, OK; Stacie Harrington and husband Jeff, Blair, OK; and many grand nieces and nephews. He is also survived by many loving friends, including special friends Nancy Lotzie, Nora Perez, Sid Bard, Darryl Burns, Paul Coons, Gregg VanYundt and Buddy Bailey.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents; his brother Ray Reed and sister-in-law Betty; his sister Wanda Sue Seymour and brother-in-law Jack; infant siblings John C Reed, Jr. and Mary Lee. A special thanks to the doctors and nurses of the Kelsey-Seybold ICU at St. Lukes Hospital and the caring professionals at Harbor Hospice of Central Houston for their loving care.
