Robert Fred (Bob) Davis, 59, of Van Wert, died at his residence on May 5, 2019. He was born on March 5, 1960, in Van Wert, Ohio, to the late Ream (Tom) Davis Sr. and Leah Shaw. He graduated from Van Wert High School in 1978.

Bob is a United States Army Veteran and served in the United States National Guard. Bob is survived by his wife, Cindy Davis; his children, Nicole (Aaron) Hampton, Jimmy Davis, Brandy (Brandon) Martin, Tiffany (Gary) Perry, and Ashley (Adam) Smazenko; step-children, Bryan (Danielle) Prater and Christy (Steve) Eaton, 24 grandchildren, and three bonus grandchildren. Bob is also survived by three sisters, Susie (Jim) Benavidez, Samantha Davis, Tammy (Jeff) May; brothers R. Thomas Davis Jr., Keith (Teri) Davis, Jim Davis, Glen Dunlap, and his weenie dog, Buddy.

Bob was a laid back kind of man who loved his children. He was a truck driver with “no tickets, no accidents” for nearly 30 years. He loved classic rock music and shooting a game of pool in his “bar”.

He also enjoyed baking and making candy for the holidays to share with his family and friends. He was a stubborn man who will be missed so very much. Bob is preceded in death by his second dad Dewy Shaw and grandchildren Matthew and Margery Glass, and Noah Martin.

A viewing will be held at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home on Friday, May 10 from 4-8 p.m. Viewing will also be held at 12:30 p.m. prior to the funeral services, which will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 11 officiated by Captain James and Lori Brown. Military rites will be provided by the American Legion and the VFW. Final resting place will be Woodland Cemetery.
