Whitinsville- Robert F. Trottier, 89, died Tuesday, January 22, with family by his side. Bob leaves his wife of 46 years, Jean (Krumsiek) Trottier, their children, Cynthia Trottier, of Phoenix, AZ, Jean Collins, of Worcester, Ann Parker and her partner, Dave Turner, of Pittsfield, Elaine LaBarge and her husband, Kevin, of Southbridge, Mary Seavey and her husband, Dennis, of Woodstock, CT, Noah Wood and his wife Jennifer, of Newburyport, James Trottier and his wife Nicolette, of Pacific Grove, CA, Mark Stacy and his wife, Amy, of Douglas, John Stacy, of Shrewsbury, Scott Stacy and his wife Sylvie, of Birmingham, AL, and Lynn Skowronski and her husband Rick, of Pascoag, RI. In addition, he leaves two brothers; Gary Trottier and his wife, Judy, of Whitinsville and Brent Trottier and his wife Judy, of Southboro, and a sister, Lynn Trottier and her longtime friend, Vivian Dumais, of Smithfield, RI.

He also leaves 21 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren, all of whom he adored, and many nieces and nephews. He will be greeted in Heaven by his son, Michael Trottier and great grandson, Sam Dauphinais. Bob was born in Fisherville, February 20, 1929, a son of Aime and Anita (Rothwell) Trottier.

As a young boy he lived in S. Grafton prior to moving to Whitinsville and graduating from Northbridge High School in 1946. He was a WWII veteran of the United States Army. As a machine designer, he worked many years at local companies including O.S. Walker and Hobbs Manufacturing, in Worcester, Dynamic, in Natick, and the Whitin Machine Works.

He served as the Assessor for the Town of Northbridge, until retiring in 1992. His hobbies included camping and woodworking, he was a member of the Sutton Country Squares the Knights of Columbus and the Disabled American Veterans. Mr. Trottier’s Funeral Mass will be Friday, January 25, at 11AM in Saint Patrick’s Church.

Burial will follow in Saint Patrick’s Cemetery. There are no Calling Hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Peace of Bread, 7 Spring St., Whitinsville, MA 01588.
