OBITUARY Robert Francis Willms January 29, 1932 – October 29, 2018 Robert “Bob” Francis Willms, 86, of Mesa, AZ, passed away October 29, 2018, at home. He was born January 29, 1932, in Lake Forest, IL, to John Christopher and Florence Rose (Peters)Willms. Bob proudly served in the US Air Force during the Korean War and was awarded the National Defense and Good Conduct medals; he was honorably discharged on February 28, 1955.

He was married to Janis Louise Hochhalter on September 24, 1960, in Lake Forest, IL. Bob worked for the US Post Office in Lake Forest, retiring after 23 years as Postmaster. He was an avid Cubs fan, a longtime member of the Moose Lodge, and a Lifetime member of the American Legion.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, John and Howard Willms, and a sister, Barbara Miceli. Bob is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Janis, 4 daughters, Dawn (Paul) Steidinger, April (Scott) Volpe, Wendy (Ward) Ross and Tracy (John) McCafferty; 8 grandchildren, Amy (Sean) Daley, Sarah Steidinger, Trevor Volpe, Josh Volpe, Collin McCafferty, Reid McCafferty, Taylor Ross, and Megan Ross; 1 great grandson, Nathan Daley as well as his brothers, Richard (Wilda) Willms and Charles (Yvonne) Willms. A celebration of Bob’s life will be held at Post Times in Libertyville, IL, from 12:30-3:30 on December 29, 2018.
