31, 2018. He was born in Dallas Tx. , on Nov.

12, 1928 to the late J. Vernon Miller and Katie Irene Cox. Robert grew up on a farm in Texas and graduated Mesquite High School; class of 1947. He started working for Bell Telephone Company in Dallas after graduation, but then decided to enlist in the United States Army during the Korean War.

When he returned, he went back to work for Bell, starting as a lineman and working his way up to retire as a supervisor from SBC in 1988 after 35 years of service. After both losing their first spouses, Robert and Betty Jones met and were married on May 7, 1976, happily celebrating their 42nd Anniversary together at Maplewood this past May. After retirement, Robert and Betty moved to Plover, WI.

, to be closer to family. Robert was an avid golfer, not to mention a friend to all animals including his beloved Boston Terrier, Tandy. He was a devoted family man and a wonderful grandfather, and had a delightful sense of humor that could bring joy to tough times.

Robert is survived by his wife, Betty, who lives at Maplewood; a sister, Rosemary Richmond of Wylie Texas; former son-in-law and friend, William Radue of Stevens Point, WI; 2 grandchildren, Rebecca (Ashley) Radue of Madison, WI and Mark Radue of Minneapolis, MN. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Peggy; daughter, Nancy Smith; son, Mark Smith; and brother, Kenneth Miller. As per Robert’s wishes a private family service will be held.

Robert’s family wishes to thank the staff at Maplewood of Sauk Prairie for their compassionate care of Robert and Betty.
