HOWLAND – Robert J. Fedyski, 93, passed away peacefully early Sunday morning, Feb. 3, 2019, at St. Joseph Warren Hospital. Robert, who was known to all as “Joe,” was born Nov.

17, 1925, in McDonald, a son of the late Steve and Mary Crepage Fedyski, and was a lifelong Trumbull County resident. He was a 1943 graduate of McDonald High School, and enlisted in the U.S. Navy after graduation, proudly serving for three years during World War II. His last tour of duty took place after he completed flight school training, serving for 18 months aboard an aircraft carrier, the U.S.S. Leyte.

After his honorable discharge from active duty, Joe continued to serve his country for over 20 additional years in the Navy Reserves. Mr. Fedyski earned a degree from Youngstown College in 1953 and worked for Packard Electric in Warren, retiring in 1987. Following retirement, Joe and his wife traveled extensively throughout the United States and Canada.

Joe’s wife, Doris “Mouse” Baughman Fedyski, whom he married in 1949, passed away in 2006. He leaves his son, Bob Fedyski of Athens, and his daughter, JoAnn Fedyski of Warren. Besides his wife, four siblings, John Fedyski, Katherine Urban, Steve Fedyski, and Ann Bolchalk, are also deceased.

Per his wishes, there will be no services or tributes. Joe had asked that all family and friends remember the many ways he may have touched their lives, and that they in turn let family and friends know that they are loved. Arrangements have been entrusted to Kinnick Funeral Home, 222 S. State St., Girard.
