Robert Jerald Hosick, 80, of Gothenburg, formerly of Curtis, Nebraska, died October 9, 2018 in Gothenburg, NE. He was born March 27, 1938 in Curtis, NE, son of Woodrow and Helen (McLaughlin) Hosick. Robert grew up in Curtis, NE and lived there until his family moved to Colorado Springs in 1954.

He married Judy Harding on February 5, 1960 at Colorado Springs and to this union four daughters were born. They moved to a farm south of Moorefield and lived there from 1972 to 1980. The family always had lots of critters around, including horses and dogs.

They then moved to Stockville until 2013 when they moved to Curtis. He worked for many years in the dry wall construction business. In later years worked as a John Deere mechanic, owned a body shop, and drove for Prince Of The Road Transportation.

He enjoyed stock car races and talking about Ford vehicles and John Deere tractors. Music was important to him and was a comfort to him in his later years. Surviving are wife, Judy Hosick of Gothenburg; four daughters, Kelli (Wyatt) Barnes of Brady, NE, Kristi Musgrave of Crawford, TX, Karen (Scott) Walgren, Wauneta, NE, Kami (Richard) Klutz, Mukilteo, WA; 12 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren, sister, Illa Jo ( Mervin) Zyssett; two brothers, Darryl (Freda) Hosick of Stockville, NE, Les (Jan) Hosick of Wellfleet, NE; sister-in-law, DeArlin Hosick of Kearney; along with many extended family and friends.

Robert was preceded in death by father, Woodrow Hosick, mother, Helen Hosick, brother, Dennis Hosick, sister and brother-in-law, Lana and Bill Hawes; son-in-law, Rick Gardner. Memorial services will be held at Berean Bible Church, Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at 2:00 pm with Pastor Brian Nicklas officiating. Interment will follow in the Curtis Cemetery, Curtis, Nebraska.

Memorials may be given to the Curtis Fire & Rescue or the Berean Church.
