Robert J. Marx, 81, of Elberfeld, passed away Tuesday, April 30, 2019, at Heritage Center. He was born in Vanderburgh County on April 15, 1938 to Anthony and Esther (Kiesel) Marx. Bob graduated from Millersburg High School and retired after a lifetime of farming.

He’s a member of Saint John’s Catholic Church in Daylight and the St. John’s Men’s Club. He’s a charter member of the Southern Indiana Antique Machinery Club, Two Cylinder Club, and the Tristate Gas Engine and Tractor Association. He enjoyed collecting antique tractors, going to steam engine shows, and anything John Deere.

Bob is survived by a wife of 56 years, Bernice (Glaser) Marx; son, Joseph Marx; grandchildren, Joshua Marx and Kayla Mark- Rhoades; great grandchildren, Jordan and Sophia Marx; many nieces and nephews; siblings, Roseann (Clarence) Hertel, Charles (Mary) Marx and Ruth (Stan) Conyer. Bob was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Donald and Eugene Marx; and sister, Virginia Marx. Visitation will be from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm Sunday, May 5, 2019, at Ziemer Funeral Home North Chapel, 6300 N. First Ave.

, Evansville, IN 47710. A memorial service will begin at 5:00 pm. Visitation will continue from 9:30 am-10:00 am, Monday, May 6, 2019 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church Daylight, 5301 Daylight Dr, Evansville, IN 47725 a Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:00 am with Fr.

Chris Forler officiating. Burial will be at St. John Elberfeld Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Vanderburgh 4h Center Trust Fund (Bob Marx), 201 E. Boonville New Harmony Road, Evansville, IN 47725 or St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
