Born on October 25, 1976 in Eldorado, Illinois, he was the son of Johnny Ray and Lisa Johnson, nee Demuth. He was united in marriage to Jennifer Schlemmer and she survives his passing.

Robert worked in the construction industry. Surviving are his wife, Jennifer Spears of New Baden, Illinois; his parents, Johnny Ray and Lisa Johnson of Pigeon Forge, Tennessee; his step-children, Brittney Dutton, Tiffany (Thomas) Quinn, Richard Curry, Alexis Curry, Nathaniel Curry, Kayla Curry, Morgan Schlemmer, Maverick Schlemmer, Madelyn Kirkpatrick, Josh Lercher, Katie Lercher and Melissa Lercher; his brother, Bill (Stacy) Johnson; his sister, Johny Kaye Johnson; his grandchildren, Adam Quinn, Serena Ritter, Bently Jordan, Maddox Johnson and Blake Mayhall and his nieces and nephews, Robbi Hundelt, Ryan Haney, Jessica Johnson, Jairies Faulks and Xavier Faulks. Memorials may be made to the family.

All services will be private. The Creason Funeral Home in Millstadt, Illinois is assisting the family.
