He joined Bristol Myers-Squibb as an Organic Research Scientist until he retired in 1987. He continued to consult for the company in Drug Regulatory Affairs until 1993. While at Bristol Myers, Bob developed a compound called oxybutynin (Ditropan) that is still readily prescribed by physicians today.
