OBITUARY Robert Ralph Modery November 25, 1929 – July 16, 2018 Orono—I, Robert “Bob” Modery left all July 16, 2018 at the age of 88. I was born November 25, 1929 in Orono toHattie (Cole) and Ralph M. Modery. I graduated from Orono High School in 1948 and commenced studies at Husson College.

Intereuption was for the Korean Conflict (I was drafted into US Army), before overseas duty I met and married Billie O. Klimas of Jefferson City, MO. After military service, my wife and I came to Maien and I again attended Husson College. I left Maine in 1955 after being accepted into the insurance field in Missouri.

During the next 26 years I was involved with all aspects of insurance claims, lastly being the owner/president of Missouri Adjustment Bureau, Inc. Retruning to Maine in 1981 I became president/owner of New England Adjustment Bureau, Inc. In later years I became owner of a sideline venture, The Wel-Com-Inn of Old Town. The proudest time of my life for my wife and I was the birth of our only child and son in 1970 (Robert RJ), birth was after 20 years of childless marriage. I was a life member of the DAV, Life member of the VFW, 50 plus year memer of the American Legion, Life member of AMVETS, and a 50 year plus member of the Masonic Order, Scottish Rite.

My wife passed 25 years ago on July 17, 1993 after 42 years of blessed marriage; also passed are my parents; brothers Donald and Charles Modery, and my sister Alice (Modery) Narauska. Surviving is my cherished son Robert “RJ” Modery and his wife Tonya (Davis) Modery; two grandsons Billy and Brock Modery. Friends will gather from 5-8 PM Thursday July 26, 2018 at the Birmingham Funeral Home 438 Main St Old Town where a Masonic service will be conducted at 6PM.

A funeral service will be conducted 10AM Friday July 27, 2018 at the Old Town United Methodist Church, Stillwater Ave, Old Town. Burial with military honors will be at Riverside Cemetery, Orono.
