Robert Reed “Bob” Strain, 84, Petersburg, passed away Sunday, February 3, 2019 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital. Bob was born October 7, 1934, in Bicknell, the son of John and Julia (Wollerman) Strain. He married Elzena Joyce Blaize on September 3, 1989.

He was a maintenance mechanic. He was also a pastor and led the Francisco Nazarene Church and the Mt. Olive Baptist Church.

He was a member of the Petersburg Nazarene Church. Bob is survived by his wife, Elezna Strain of Petersburg; son, Timothy (Becky) Strain of Bicknell; daughter, Deborah (Larry) Knight; step-sons, Jeffrey (Rose) Blaize of Knob Noster, MO and Jason (Karen) Blaize of Tolar, TX; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Barbara (Summitt) Strain; step-daughter, Janet Johnston; and brothers, John Paul Strain and George Strain.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 6, 2019 at 1:00 PM with Pastor David Warren officiating at Fredrick and Son McClure-Utt Funeral Home Bicknell Chapel. Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until the time of service also at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest at the Edwardsport IOOF Cemetery.
