Robert’s Obituary Robert Thomas Fox age 72 of Ionia, MI passed away peacefully at home with his wife March 6, 2019, a victim of Agent Orange. He was born in 1946 in Hersfeld, Germany the son of Richard William Fox and Anna Katharina Fox. Robert attended Ionia High School.

He served in the Army during the Vietnam War. He married his best friend Sara Chance on July 4, 1996 in Ionia. Bob was a member of the Ionia Moose Lodge for 42 years and the American Legion.

He loved bowling, which showed in his scores. He earned patches for 75, 125, 140, and 150 pins over average, belonged to the 7/10 club, All Spare Game, 600 series, and 700 series clubs. His proudest moment was rolling a 300 game and receiving his commemorative ring.

Bob also loved playing golf and laughing with Sara. On the golf course he was “rock boy” and she was “tree girl”. Bob was a “true blue” Michigan fan and a huge Detroit Tigers fan.

Surviving are his wife Sara Fox of Ionia; mother Anna Katharina (Katie) Fox of Ionia; son Ryan (Heidie) Fox of Ionia; step-sons Scott Barber of Ionia and Rick Barber of Ionia; grandchildren Emily Fox, Bailey Fox, Andrew Fox; great grandchildren Laylah Harper, Lillian Harper, Jasper Powers; siblings Bonnie (Roger) Kimble of Saranac, Brenda (Kevin) Lowe of New Mexico and Frederick (Nannette) Fox of Saranac. Cremation has taken place and there will be a graveside service at Balcom Cemetery on June 14, 2019 at 2:00. Donations may be made in memory of Bob to Ionia Moose Lodge and Faith Hospice.
