Roberta C. Simpkin, 76, passed away Saturday, May 18, 2019 after a long, courageous battle. She was born in Red Bank, NJ and grew up in Miami, FL. She served in the US Army as a specialist E-5 in the WAC (Women’s Army Corps) before moving back to Red Bank, NJ where she worked as a nurse at Riverview Medical Center.

She then worked for Fort Monmouth in Eatontown, NJ as a computer specialist for 28 years where she met her husband Robert Stanley who also worked as a computer specialist. She was a member of Holy Innocents Church in Neptune, NJ where she served as a Eucharistic minister, a lector, and a Religious Education Teacher. Roberta had a passion for genealogy, animals, traveling, and her Catholic faith.

She received diplomas in both modeling and cosmetics at Barbizon. She earned her Associates in Arts at Brookdale Community College and her Bachelors in Arts at Argosy University. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi and Phi Alpha Upsilon.

In addition, she was President of the Monmouth Chapter of the FEW (Federally Employed Women) as well as Historian and Librarian of the Washington Chapter of the DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution). She was also a member of NARFE (National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association). Roberta had many great accomplishments and was proud of them all, but her most cherished was being a mother and MeMa.

She is predeceased by her mother Dorothy C. Fesko, father James M. Fesko, brother James M. Fesko, Jr, and sister Joyce A. Parsons. She is survived by her husband Robert of 41 years, daughter and son in law Susan and Kent Joseph of Neptune, NJ, 3 grandchildren Kayshawn Joseph, Kylar Joseph, and Khloe Joseph also of Neptune, NJ, her sister Denise F. McAllister of Georgia, and 3 nieces Tina Willingham of Oregon, Jennifer Parsons of Georgia, and Holly Parsons of Georgia. An 11am funeral mass will be held on Friday, May 24, 2019 at Holy Innocents Church in Neptune followed by an entombment in Monmouth Memorial Park, Tinton Falls.
